Same morning routine as everyday with poached eggs and orange juice. Drew and I were out in Etobicoke at Cynthia and Kam’s house while they coincidentally are in Halifax. I had a wonderful sleep and as one should do when vacationing, we left when we good and ready which was around 10:00 am. We made a first stop at En-Route to get coffee and something to eat to hold us over until a meal when near the border to Quebec City. The distance was about 760 km but with traffic we knew it would be longer than predicted by the GPS. That was okay because we really had no plans other than drive to our AirBnB.
I had a craving for Swiss Chalet but since we were in Quebec, it became St-Hubert BBQ on the west end outskirts of Montreal. We ordered a half-chicken to share and there was nothing left when we departed. I like Swiss Chalet but I think I like this gastronomic experience more. If given the option, I’ll pick St-Hubert BBQ first.

We arrived after dark and got settled into the AirBnB. It was a loft and as we discovered the next day, a short walk to Chateau Frontenac. The loft is about 500 square feet, my Queen Size bed is behind Drew’s pull out. It is well equipped with everything we need and decorated beautifully.
The wall behind where I was standing is made of stone and likely dates back to when many of the buildings around our location were erected in the 1670s; yes that’s right … the 1670s.
By the way, there are two remaining walled cities in North America, Mexico City and Quebec Cite. Our AirBnb is a short walk from the gates.
Drew went for a walk to stretch his legs and returned with reports of remarkably attractive streets lined with building similar to the one in which we were staying.
This is a great place to stay.
We watched election results come in until the Minority Government was announced and then we shut it down for the night to be well rested for tomorrow.
As always, I thank you for being my support pillars as I continue my battle with cancer. I can’t win the war but I can put up a good fight in each battle. And although I know it’s not everyone’s thing my faith and belief that God is always present continues to provide me with the courage I need to do battle is as strong as ever.

Can’t wait to see what Quebec City brings, Phil. Peter and I very much enjoyed the short stay we had there but want to go back with the kids sometime.
It is pretty remarkable esthetically. I think it surpassed Old Montreal in several aspects particularly because it is so clustered. Wait to you have a chance to read today’s blog. You’ll be dying to get there sooner than later. It is nice being at an AirBnB inside the wall and steps away from all the major attractions.
