24 Hours and I’m a New Dude

Yesterday sucked. There is no other way to say it but 24 hours later I feel terrific.

The diagnosis is that blood clots, likely from my legs, moved. into my right lungs. I was put on blood thinners right away which is the normal treatment for blood clots. I just went to have a CT scan a few moments ago which will confirm that’s what happened, but there’s really no doubt.

When I got back, Nicole and I went for a walk. It will be a while before I’m at full speed but being active opens the lungs and helps with healing. The walk, coughing and the incentive Spirometer help me move a lot of air in and out. I’m moving so much that I’ve been taken off supplemental oxygen. No more mask … yeah!

Everything is going in the right direction.

As always, thanks for being at my side. With your support and having God holding my hand, the light at the end of the tunnel gets brighter daily. We’ll be sharing beers soon!

Peace, Love and Laughter – Phil

  1. You inspire me again Phil, just as you did 2 years ago in Denmark.
One day – not sure when or where just now – I look forward to riding with you again.
I just hope I’ll be able to keep up!
    Mal.
