Opps … Diagnosis Hiccup

With all the remarkable tools in the medical war-chest, until the surgeons get inside it’s still a best guess. My tumour started around the upper valve in stomach and grew up and down on the outside of my stomach and esophagus.

More gory details to come when I get more information but the surgery went in a different direction than expected.

The lower half of my esophagus was removed, all of my stomach, and my small intestine is attached to my esophagus.

Going forward I’ll need to east smaller portions but more frequently and lots of high calaorie foods like cakes, peanut butter, and ice cream to maintain my weight. Pretty rough eh?

Need to rest now but as always, so glad to have you folks at my side and God holding my hand.

Peace, Love and Laughter … Phil

PS Tubes coming out of me everywhere but that’s a story for later.

  1. Certainly doesn’t sound like a walk in the park Phil and more than helps to put all the Covid 19 anxieties we are experiencing into perspective. Your positivity will continue to enhance your progress as you rest and recover. I never cease to be amazed at the adaptability of the human body – and as I was reminded as I saw individuals leaving the liquor store with seven boxes of two-fours yesterday some put this to the test this weekend without realizing it! Stay strong.
