Below, on the left is a picture taken about three years ago and on the right, a picture taken a few minutes ago. I think it is pretty obvious that there is a positive and dramatic change in my appearance. Today, I like the way I look and feel but what I think is more important, this weight lose and life-style change is a huge benefit as I begin my battle with cancer.
When I decided to chronicle this chapter of my life’s story, my goal was to provide a source of comfort for others in my situation. To my surprise, there is another important side-story here. Every member of my cancer treatment team remarks on my good health. It is clear that will be of great value to allow me better tolerate what is coming and recover more quickly.
With that in mind, I created pages on this site to share my journey over the last three years. The menu titled “Healthy Living” is where you will find more information on my transition from lazy and fat to strong, fit, dietary changes including adoption of plant-based, reduction in processed food, and increased exercise. This is a work in progress and unlike posts, you will not be notified when I make changes.
I do not view myself as an expert but my model worked for me. I will write a blog like this when I think there is relevant new information in this branch of my web site. For now, you can get a sense of where I’m going with this component under the titles:
On a final note, I hear from those who think what I do is remarkable. I can assure you that is not the case. I’m not a natural athlete. I am just a regular guy who more by accident than design, started a life-change that resulted in an massive improvement in the quality of my life.
You can too.
As always, thanks for being at my side through this journey. If you know someone who may benefit, please share my web address and invite them along for the ride.
Peace, Love and Laughter – Phil
PS – In the My Family page on the site, if you scroll down, I added the names and relationships of my siblings and their offspring and Janet’s siblings and their offspring. This proved to be an eye opening exercise. Excluding the 10 members of our family, there are 19 names in my branch and 64 in Janet’s … it makes me to want to break into a chorus of We Are Family …
